Dietetics student has recipe for success: stay engaged

After working as a counselor the last two summers at TWU's culinary camps, dietetics student Mariana Salazar was given the opportunity to create a new camp. The end result was Revamp Nutrition, which runs June 16-19 for kids who are 12-16 at Woodcock Hall on the Denton campus.

Dietitian finds calling in classroom

Rachel Poland was recently recognized for her contributions to the dietetics profession. The dietetic internship director for the Houston campus received the Emerging Dietetic Leader award at the Texas Academy Annual Conference & Exhibition (Texas ACE) in April.

Texas Woman’s has selected veteran administrator, global leader in research and seasoned faculty member Catrine Tudor-Locke, PhD to serve as the university’s next dean of the College of Health Sciences. She begins her new role on July 1, 2025.
TWU alum uses cooking program to educate communities on nutrition

In March 2024, TWU alumna Stephanie Lopez-Neyman led cooking demonstration classes at an area elementary school. One of the unique aspects of this pilot program was the collaboration among Lopez-Neyman at the Center for the Study of Obesity, the culinary medicine program at UAMS and Chicot Elementary School.
